3 DAY TRIPS TO TAKE FROM NICE via TRAIN

When you’re visiting the South of France, there’s so many perks to being a short distance away from beautiful towns and villages. You can just hop on a train last minute and be transported to a completely different place you never knew existed. From the luxurious country of Monaco where the famous Grace Kelly became a Grimaldi, to the medieval village of Èze, you’ll want to keep these destinations in mind when booking your next trip to the South of France! *All of these destinations are easily accessible and inexpensive to travel to via train.

  1.  MONACO

A 20min train ride away from Nice takes you to the stunning & luxurious country of Monaco (where the rich & famous holiday!)

This is the perfect day trip if you’re looking to get away from the crowds by country hopping! With flawless roads and impeccable architecture, it’s no wonder Monaco is a favored destination. With a low-crime rate and super safe environment, you can also wear your Chanel & Dior without the fear of being pickpocketed! I loved my time in Monaco. My favorite part was visiting Monte Carlo and visiting all of the historical sites, especially where Grace Kelly was married. I felt very safe there and would 100% visit again!

Things to do:

Grimaldi Palace

Saint Nicholas Cathedral (Where Grace Kelly got married & is buried)

Monte Carlo Casino

View from the Grimaldi Palace
  1. ÈZE

This lesser-known Medieval village is nestled east, 30 minutes from Nice. Known for fairytale-like architecture and stunning views of the Mediterranean sea, Èze will surely leave you amazed. Wander and explore the narrow streets, have drinks at nearby cafes & 5* hotels with breathtaking views (Le Creperie Cactus, Château Eza, & Chèvre d’or), and visit cute shops for handmade jewelry and souvenirs! I absolutely loved my day-trip to Èze, so I believe it’ll be a charming day trip for you as well. The people are lovely and very hospitable, flowers decorate the medieval architecture all over the village, and it’s the perfect relaxation-type day where you can explore & not be exhausted.

Things to do:

Have a drink Château Eza & Chèvre d’or and admire the stunning views

Visit Le Creperie Cactus for delicious crepes & their famous sundaes

Shop around local boutiques like Good Karma for handmade jewelry with quality stones

  1. VILLEFRANCHE-SUR-MER

Visit Villefranche-sur-mer if you’re craving a boat trip away from Nice. During my trip, I saw little fishies while snorkeling! This gem is only 20 minutes away by train from Nice, making it super accessible. Not only that, but this is another crowd-free place to relax with a huge reef that’s perfect for snorkeling & scuba diving.

Things to do:

Snorkeling

Scuba Diving

Explore the town
