For my 23rd birthday, I booked a celebratory getaway to Los Angeles for a week. Traveling to California has been on my list for some time next to Arizona and Nevada. I’ve wanted to see what it’s like on the opposite side of the country since I’ve grown up in the East Coast.
I booked my stay at Hotel June for my first few nights and absolutely loved it. Before I go into detail, I’d like to point out that I’ve stayed at numerous hotels around the world and closer to home in NYC over the years. These hotels (mostly boutique) range from 3-4 star in ranking with the occasional 5 star resort. From a few disaster stays to incredibly relaxing times, I’ve experienced a good amount.
But I must say, Hotel June is a winner for me. This boutique accommodation is ranked as a 3 star place. But the service, hospitality, and quality of amenities made my stay feel like a high-quality 4 star hotel. Hotel June offers guests loads of amenities including plush towels, lots of water, dog bowls for your pooch, and a poolside terrace where the vibes are.
One of my favorite things about my stay was the amazing hot water pressure for a relaxing shower after a chilly-breezy day paddle boarding. Additionally, the staff were super dog-friendly and allowed my pup Cookie to walk around the pool outside and explore the terrace.
I unfortunately haven’t received this quality of hospitality in a few New York City and European hotels, which made it special. If you’re planning to visit the West Coast in the near future, I highly recommend you stay with them.
I learned from this stay to not judge a hotel by their ranking alone. Sometimes they’ll surprise you and provide you with a far better experience than a higher-ranked hotel alone. Plus, higher prices doesn’t always mean better quality!
